The NASUWT met with Paradigm MAT during the Spring and Summer term 2016 to continue our negotiations to work collaboratively in developing a new framework for negotiation and consultation.
The Trust have confirmed they will retain the status quo, where all existing policies that were negotiated with Suffolk County Council (SCC), Tower Hamlets and the Learning Schools Trust (LST) will continue to be used where appropriate. In addition, Paradigm will continue to support facility time arrangements by paying in to local authority pots.
Policies and procedures update
The Trust is looking to harmonise policies and procedures and has been consulting on the following:
- Disciplinary policy
- Grievance policy
- Trade Union Recognition Agreement (TURA)
Both the Disciplinary and Grievance policies have been the subject of detailed discussions with the NASUWT. As a result, the union secured significant improvements on behalf of our members, particularly for those employed on LST contracts.
Further comments have since been received from the NASUWT and we are awaiting a response from the Trust. The NASUWT has reserved judgement until the revisions have been made and distributed.
The next meet will be on 28th September 2016 at Ipswich Academy where the agenda will cover the TURA, pay and appraisal and equalities data and pay.
