Outwood Grange Academies Trust (OGAT) is a growing multi-academy trust based in Wakefield. The Trust has schools in the East Midlands, Yorkshire and Humberside, and the North East Regions and, from 1 September 2021, will also include schools in the North West Region.

OGAT has a trade union recognition agreement and pays into local authority facility pots as a trust-wide policy for all its schools.

The NASUWT and other unions have held weekly JNC meetings since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, which have enabled detailed and meaningful consultation and frequent agreement with the NASUWT over Covid control measures, management of staff absence and approaches to remote learning.

The NASUWT has not agreed any of OGAT’s HR policies, although the Union has secured key improvements in OGAT policies, including universal pay progression on the main pay scale for the overwhelming majority of OGAT teachers.

In cases of working practices at individual OGAT schools which cause NASUWT School Representatives and members concern, School Representatives should contact their Local Association Secretary for liaison with their National Executive Member.
