Minneapolis statement BANNER.jpg

We are horrified by recent events in Minneapolis. US federal agents have killed two US citizens in the streets of their own city - for the crime of protesting against the paramilitary occupation of Minneapolis and elsewhere.

We send our condolences and solidarity to the families and friends of Renee Good, a writer and mother, and of Alex Pretti, who was a nurse and a union member.

We send our solidarity to the thousands of working people rounded up under Trump’s attack on migrants.

Millions of Americans are realising that Trump’s racist clampdown is an attack on all working people.

The US working people and communities who are defending their neighbours and who are standing against this horrific onslaught are demonstrating their support for democratic and constitutional rights and their opposition to the ‘divide and rule’ strategy of the White House.

They deserve the support of all of us.
