This service provides advice and representation for members and their families for accidents inside and outside the workplace, and for non-work-related disease or illness, provided the eligibility for assistance criteria are met. (For more details about eligibility, see right/below.)
Please note that road traffic accidents are only covered for members when an accident happens in the course of employment or on the commute to or from work. If it does not occur in your work or commuting, we may still be able to provide support if your injuries are particularly serious or you have suffered a road accident as a pedestrian or cyclist.
Accidents which occur abroad, for example, whilst on holiday, are covered if the claim can be pursued in the UK courts.
Please note that the Scheme does not cover medical negligence or non-work-related CICA claims or CICA claims for family members.
‘Family’ is defined as the NASUWT member and their spouse or partner together with their children and any adult financial dependant.
The Scheme gives access for members and their families to the UK’s most experienced personal injury law firm and guarantees:
-
no investigation costs;
-
no insurance premium payment;
-
no expenses to pay as the case progresses or on its conclusion - whatever the outcome.
Call 0808 100 2221.
You will need to provide your name, contact details and your NASUWT membership number. If there is a problem with your membership or you do not know your membership number, please email the Membership Team.
