In most schools there is a period of time defined before and after each of the school sessions.

This is often called ‘buffer time’. It should be no more than up to ten minutes and teachers may be allocated supervisory duties during that time.

During this time, teachers should not agree to undertake supervisory duties which are off the school premises. This includes ‘bus duties’.
