The terms and conditions for joining NASUWT are governed by the Rules of the Union, which will be available in full when you become a member.

NASUWT is the teachers’ union. Membership of the union is available to anyone with a contract to teach, lecture or instruct or who has qualified teacher status (QTS).

Students undertaking courses leading to QTS are entitled to free student membership for the duration of their teacher training.

NASUWT can provide advice, guidance and support to members facing issues at work only if those issues post-date the date of joining the union.

Once you complete your online application, you will receive an applicant number. Pease keep this number safe in case you need to contact us. Once your application has been processed, you will receive your membership number which replaces your applicant number.

Your date of joining will be the date you submitted your application to join.

Once your application is processed and you receive your membership number, you will receive an e-mail which includes instructions on how to log into the member only sections of the website. We would encourage you to login as soon as possible.

Once logged into the website you will be able to access the full rules of the union.
