Holocaust Memorial Day 2025
The theme for this year’s Holocaust Memorial Day on 27 January is For a Better Future.
Six million Jewish people and millions from the Sinti-Roma and LGBT+ communities, socialists, trade unionists and others were killed during the Nazi Holocaust. Their stories must never be forgotten.
This international day is a time to remember the millions of ‘ordinary people’ murdered during the Holocaust, under Nazi persecution and in the genocides which followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.
The NASUWT recognises that anti-Jewish prejudice remains a problem today and that the lessons of the past must continue to be learned.
The NASUWT commits to continuing to do all it can to challenge prejudice, to stand up to hatred and all forms of anti-Semitism, and to ordinary people being ‘upstanders’, not bystanders.
