Dealing with members' problems can be challenging. This course focuses on skills essential in successfully handling the more complex problems that can come the way of Local Association Caseworkers. The course teaches how to deal with problems in a systematic manner; how to interview members; how to research documents and papers; and how to assemble a 'case'. There are opportunities to discuss issues with experienced tutors. This course is part of the process of NASUWT casework accreditation and must be completed by members who want to undertake casework on behalf of the NASUWT. Those who have completed the Workplace Representatives course (or NASUWT equivalent courses), the Discrimination course, or are booked to attend a Discrimination course, are eligible to apply for a place on this course.

Infrastructure upgrade

Due to critical infrastructure updates, there may be a small delay in logging into the members' area of the website on Friday 11 September.

Due to the nature of the work, we are unable to supply an exact downtime window, but the website itself will remain in operation throughout.
