Commenting on the closure of LIPA School in Liverpool four days before the end of the summer term due to safety concerns, Matt Wrack, Acting General Secretary for NASUWT – The Teachers’ Union, said:
“Teachers at LIPA School have long raised the alarm on issues of health and safety. Though matters should never have reached this conclusion – full school closure for the last days of term – it is a relief to see that their concerns are finally being taken seriously.
“We look forward to working with the Chair of Trustees in September to make LIPA School a safe, warm and friendly place for everyone. When teachers stand firm, change follows.”
