Rushworth House Retirement Housing Complex

Rushworth House offers retirement housing for individuals aged 60 or over who are in housing need. Set in gardens in the heart of the Cotswolds, it is within driving distance of the beautiful towns of Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Campden and historic Cirencester. Priority admission to Rushworth House is available for NASUWT members.

The rental properties consist of 27 flats and 20 bungalows, each with its own fitted kitchen, lounge, double bedroom and bathroom, with double glazing and central heating as standard. The flats are accessible via stairs or a lift and there is a residents-only parking area. A communal laundry for day-to-day washing needs is available at a small cost.

Residents can chat or read newspapers in the large furnished lounge or reading room and visiting friends and relatives can hire the guest flat if they want to stay over. For those who like to work with their hands, there is a large art room which is used by painting and sewing groups, with an additional area for a pool table and darts.

Rushworth Social Committee organises a range of activities that reflect tenants’ interests.

The dedicated Scheme Manager for Rushworth House works Monday to Friday, except public holidays. S/he is responsible for:

  • contacting you each day to check your wellbeing;
  • making sure the Scheme is kept safe by reporting communal repairs and completing health and safety checks;
  • checking fire alarms, personal alarm pendants and pull cords;
  • encouraging you to stay active, promote healthy living and social activities.
