To mark 2021's Disability History Month, the NASUWT is hosting an online, evening event. The evening will consist of two sessions delivered by experts in their field.
Disability History and Ableism
This 45 minute session will explain the term and highlight the persecution 'disabled' people have experienced over the years. It will promote the social model of disability which highlights the barriers society in general places on the individual.
An Introduction to Neurodiversity
This 45 minute session will introduce neurodiversity and what it means for both teachers and students. It will provide insights into neurodiverse conditions along with suggestions for teachers in the classroom.
Both sessions will have a Q&A session at the end of each presentation.
