The NASUWT offers courses specifically for black and minority ethnic members, disabled members, LGBTI members, women members and young members. These courses are designed to give a flavour of what it is like to be an NASUWT local activist (for example, an NASUWT Representative or Local Association Secretary); to identify the barriers which exist for young teachers, women, LGBT, disabled and black and minority ethnic members, and to construct action plans for members and the Union itself to remove the barriers.

The NASUWT is seeking to improve the participation of under-represented groups in the running of the Union and specifically in encouraging members of traditionally under-represented groups in becoming workplace representatives and branch activists.

Please note that the course taking place in Scotland is written for members who teach in Scotland.
