Commenting on the Wales GCE A/AS Level and Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate results, Chris Keates, General Secretary of the NASUWT-The Teachers’ Union, said:

“Students and teachers have once again delivered high standards and should be praised for the overall rise in performance, despite the ongoing challenges of underinvestment in education, changes to the qualifications system and continuing teacher redundancy.

“Students and teachers must all be congratulated for their hard work and dedication.

“Despite these challenging circumstances, teachers have pulled out all the stops to ensure that young people are supported to achieve their best.”

Rex Phillips, NASUWT National Official for Wales, said:

“This is a good day for the students and their teachers in our schools and colleges across Wales, as the results present yet another year of improvement, and is a cause for the celebration of their efforts and commitment.”
