Inspectors Inspected

The NASUWT has a longstanding record of monitoring and reporting on the impact of inspection on the professional practice and working conditions of teachers and school and college leaders.

Using survey evidence, the findings of research and direct consultation with members, the Union has continued to highlight not only the direct impact of inspection but also the way in which perceptions of the expectations of inspection can have adverse consequences in relation to levels of organisational bureaucracy, the workload of teachers and school and college leaders and their ability to use their professional skills, knowledge and expertise to meet the needs of learners.

To help us continue to monitor the impact of inspections on teaching, please let us know about your experiences using the easy-to-use 'Inspecting the Inspectors' online tool (right/below).
