The NASUWT has produced a self-audit checklist for the return to school. The Protecting Members - Self-audit Checklist for Return to School should be completed by all members and can be found on the right/below.

The NASUWT has additionally produced a comprehensive checklist that can be used when considering full school reopening. The Checklist on Preparation for the Reopening of Schools can be found on the right/below.

The checklist provides the key steps which must be factored into the planning of the reopening of schools.

The NASUWT expects that all steps will be completed prior to reopening.

The checklist takes account of government guidance on planning for reopening schools and will be amended as appropriate in the context of any changes to government and/or public health guidance.

The checklist is in four sections:

  1. Schools where the premises have been closed completely since lockdown on 23rd March 2020.
  2. Schools which have been partially open throughout the lockdown period.
  3. Actions to be taken which apply to all schools.
  4. Useful links to guidance, which supplements the issues in sections A, B and C.

If you need support or advice around issues related to the checklist, please contact the NASUWT.

The NASUWT has called for ministers to end speculation and ensure that schools are only reopened when it is safe to do so and written accordingly to the four Education Ministers responsible for such matters within the UK. The letters can be found on the right/below.
