Global Day of Action for MENA countries
NASUWT members are being encouraged to take part in the Global Day of Action to support the people of the Middle East and North Africa.
Thousands of people are expected to converge on Trafalgar Square to show their solidarity one year on since the first uprisings started in Tunisia and Egypt.
As Libyans rebuild their country, as Egyptians protest against police violence and military trials and as Syrians face tanks in the streets the struggle for human rights goes on throughout the region.
The NASUWT stands in solidarity with the people of the Midle East and North Africa who are peacefully calling for their human rights.
Amnesty International is calling on people to show their solidarity and defiance by wearning black, white or red at the event.
The demonstration is being held between 12pm and 2pm and speakers will include Kate Allen, director of Amnesty International UK as well as leading trade unionists and activists.
