Ofsted Inspection of Schools: NASUWT guidance for teachers

The revised Framework for Inspecting Schools in England came into force in September 2009.

This booklet provides a briefing for teachers on the inspection arrangements. It explains the main features, highlights key issues and offers advice. NASUWT is actively monitoring the implementation of the inspection arrangements. To assist in this, feedback from members is vital. As part of the ongoing monitoring process, the Union would like to receive information about any issues or difficulties which may occur during an actual inspection or as the result of a school or local authority preparing for or responding to an inspection.

NASUWT is committed to raising with Government and OFSTED any issues of concern raised to seek to ensure that schools have an effective and appropriate inspection system which supports the work of headteachers and teachers. NASUWT will continue to support individual members who encounter difficulties linked to an inspection.
