NASUWT response to the Review of Mathematics in Early Years Settings

The NASUWT's response to the Williams Review of Mathematics emphasises that the Review's key recommendation, that all primary schools and early years settings should have access to specialist mathematics teaching, must be taken forward in a way that is consisitent with and supports the approach to performance management, pay and rewards for teachers and continuing professional development that are central to the efforts of social partners to tackle teacher and headteacher workload and raise standards. The response also considers the implications of the proposals for approaches at school-level to the curriculum as a whole and the means by which access to specialist teaching might be secured in practice.
