Behaviour Management Pack
The NASUWT believes that effective teaching and learning can only take place in a well-ordered environment. Promoting positive behaviour requires consistency of practice across the school to ensure that pupils know the standards of behaviour expected of them.
A shared commitment from parents, governors and the wider community is also an important factor in promoting good behaviour, as is the support of local authorities, social services departments, health services and the police in dealing with the range of challenging behaviours sometimes seen in schools. A multi-agency approach can be vital in dealing with some situations.
The documents in this series provide a set of principles, model procedures and guidance which schools can use to build sound policy and consistent, effective practice. The NASUWT has produced these documents in order to save school leaders, teachers, support staff and governors many hours of development work, releasing time to discuss the implementation of their behaviour policy.
