This independent study by Catalyst adds a crucial dimension to the current debate on academies. It is an important snapshot in time as the roll-out of the Government’s academy schools’ programme is ongoing and further developments emerge as each new academy is added to the list. The research informed and complements the NASUWT Report The Private Sector and State Education, which was adopted at the Union’s Annual Conference in 2006.
