Seminars for Newly Qualified Teachers

Every year the NASUWT provides free professional development seminars for new teachers across the UK, from the time immediately after they qualify through to the end of their first year of teaching.

In July and August every year the NASUWT runs Preparing for your First Teaching Post seminars in every region and country of the UK, for teachers that have just qualified and are about to enter into their first teaching positions. The seminars cover a range of subject areas including:

• current changes in education policy and the impact on new teachers;
• finding out more about the NASUWT and how to get more involved in the Union;
• information about the induction process and;
• an interactive session aimed at improving new teachers behaviour management skills.

To attend one of the seminars student members of the NASUWT need to convert to free full membership of the NASUWT before the seminars take place, new teachers can convert to full membership either on-line JOIN NASUWT or by telephoning the Union’s Membership Team on 03330 145550 (choosing option 2).

We are currently taking bookings for the July and August 2016 Seminars, the link to book is available below.

If you have questions about induction, conditions of service or other work related issues; if you want more advice and support then you should book your place as quickly as possible.

The NASUWT also provides seminars to support new teachers once they are teaching, towards the end of the first term of teaching in November and then again at the end of the first year of teaching in June.

These seminars provide professional development for new teachers in a variety of areas including behaviour management, dealing with stress and working with parents.
