Student Guide

The NASUWT produces an annual Student Guide and Diary to offer student teachers vital information, guidance and advice in order to help NASUWT student members through the training process.

The Student Guide can be downloaded from the resources section of this page. It contains useful information on many aspects of the teacher training process, from what training teachers should expect from classroom practice, observations and assessments, managing pupil behaviour in the classroom and training teachers legal rights and obligations when teaching.

The Student Guide also provides advice on the legal cover training teacher members of the NASUWT can expect to receive from the Union as well as the services the NASUWT provide to student teachers on finding a first teaching post and preparing for the first day in the classroom once a teaching position has been secured. The Student Guide also provides vital information on how to get in touch with the NASUWT and how to get actively involved in the Union as a student member.

To receive a hard copy of the Student Guide which also includes a diary of the academic year telephone the NASUWT Despatch Team on 0121 453 6150 or contact your NASUWT National/Regional Centre
