Search and resource finder facilities

The Union has provided three ways in which members can search for content on the website:

(a) a simple search facility. This can be accessed at the top right hand side of each page. The simple search facility will search all content on the site and generate a result wherever an item contains a word matching the search criteria. The presentation of the search results can be arranged by relevance, date, title or subject category. If too many results are generated refine the search using the advanced search facility.

(b) an advanced search facility. This can be accessed in two ways. Either directly at the top right hand side of each page or at the top of the results page when a simple search has been used to generate results. The advanced search will allow users to refine their search as follows:

(i) select any word, all words or exact phrase;

(ii) by location;

(iii) by type of resource;

(iv) between dates.

The presentation of the search results can be arranged by relevance, date, title or subject category.

(c) a resource finder facility. This can be accessed in the right hand margin of each page. It should be noted that the resource finder is only capable of searching for the NASUWT publications, events and training courses. The NASUWT publications searchable via resource finder are those that can be ordered from the Union in hard copy. To search for other NASUWT literature, use the advanced search and review the other options within the type of resource filter.
