General Education Policy

The NASUWT works to influence national education policy throughout the UK and ensure that members’ voices are heard and that teachers’ views inform the policy development process.

The NASUWT’s work continues to focus on ensuring that  teachers do not become swamped by requirements which do not require their professional expertise or distract them from their core responsibilities for teaching and learning and on emphasising the critical importance of respecting the professionalism of teachers.

The NASUWT produces detailed publications which help members understand the impact of current education policy and more general trends in education across the UK.

The NASUWT also provides detailed responses to national consultations and provides evidence to inform Government reviews that may affect members and the schools and colleges in which they work.
